Does playing Guitar Hero help you when it comes to playing the real guitar?

I'm going to take guitar lessons soon, and it got me thinking. I'm pretty good at Guitar Hero, not the best though. I've pretty much mastered the Medium level, I've been playing off and on since the second one came out.
Anyways, does playing that game help at all with playing the real guitar? Or does it not make a difference at all?

hehehe no, it won't help you to play better. However, it may help you:
a. Identify/hear the guitar parts better
b. Trigger desire to learn some riffs on real instrument
c. Keep your interest in guitar going.

But after that -- go back to your guitar with strings and amp

I need silver award project ideas!?

I'm look for ideas for my silver award project. I was thinking maybe something to promote the Catholic Church among young people, but that's just an idea. I play guitar and soccer and like sports, and I also like astronomy, so I would enjoy projects related to that, but really any serious ideas are welcome. 40 hours of work are needed on the project including prep and stuff, and like 7-10 of actually doing the project. well for my project what i did was restore a pre-school playground. plant some flowers and give them a nice green lawn. i also painted a mural and got them some toys through donations. i dont know how you would feel about teaching kids but you could do a small, maybe a week long soccer camp next summer. get someone to sponsor some jerseys and go out there and have a good time doing something you like and that can possibly help some young boys/girls.

I want to learn to play guitar. I am 16, but I played piano when I was a kid. Rock music is my life so I will most likely stay committed to learning the guitar.
